A more casual alternative for food, drink and fun is the Speakeasy Pub located downstairs at the Mimslyn, an eight-minute walk from the South Court Inn.  Although it’s a pub, the menu is more sophisticated yet the atmosphere is genuinely casual.  Live entertainment is offered, but be sure to check the website or call ahead for times and dates due to seasonal hours.

Very much a “go to” place for the locals, Gathering Grounds is a favorite for lunch, coffee and snacks in the afternoon. If you are looking for hearty lunch-time sandwiches, delicious salads, or just a burger or fish & chips, this is your spot. Open Fridays and Saturdays from 8AM – 7PM, Mondays – Wednesdays open 8AM – 3PM, closed Sundays and Thursdays.

Asian Station first opened its doors in the spring of 2023, and it has been a big hit! Offering sushi, dumplings, edamame, miso soup, asian shaved ice, bubble tea and a daily special, Asian Station packs a flavorful punch. Portion sizes are a little on the smaller side and there is limited seating indoors, but this is a great spot for a lunch or dinner right on Main Street at a renovated depot station. Open from 11AM-2PM and then 4PM-7PM on Mondays & Tuesdays and Thursdays - Saturdays. Closed on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Located just on the other side of the the Blue Ridge Mountains in the little hamlet of Sperryville, Rappahannock Pizza Kitchen offers wonderful wood-fired pizzas in a cozy setting co-located with the Sperryville Country Store and Francis Bar. For pizza, highly recommended! Open Fridays for dinner, Saturdays and Sundays for lunch and dinner, and closed Mondays - Thursdays.

Delicious southern BBQ made fresh each day! When they’re out, they’re out. Offerings include pulled pork, smoked chicken, racks of ribs, smoked sausage, and tri-tip sirloin accompanied by a variety of side dishes. There is no place to eat inside, so Shannon and I love to take their BBQ to Hawksbill Brewing Company and enjoy with a beer (the brewery doesn’t serve food, so customers are allowed to bring their own). We recommend you call ahead before you go to make sure they haven’t run out of whichever meat you’d like.
